IN THE 1970's BERNARD PICTURE COMPANY, NEW YORK CITY, put 12 Holbrook paintings into print. The "Old Times" series of 4 paintings. The "Lost and Found" series of 4. And the "Future Fossils" series of 4 (this last series is yet to be posted here). The original paintings were all 18" x 24" in size. All painted in Acrylics on hard board. Prints of each painting were created in 3 different sizes and all were printed as "Open End" runs. Open End means Bernard Picture Company could print as many as they wanted, with a royalty paid to the artist for each print sold. They did well and thousands were sold. (Unfortunately, the royalty on each print was quite small. ) Joseph ordered and sold some of the prints at art shows he was attending. Those, he re-signed in pencil. We have many inquiries regarding the value of these prints and at present all we can say is there are no auction records for any of these and so there is no established value other than what the market will bare.    No new ones are being printed and there is no existing stock that we know of. Bernard Picture Co is out of business. We suggest only that if you own a signed print, its value is higher than any unsigned one. Should we become aware of any changes in established value, we'll be happy to contact you.  Just send your email address and the print(s) you own. (The inks used by Bernard Picture Company were fair, but not nearly as stable as inks today. Keep them out of direct sunlight and preferably in a low light, dry location. ) HOLBROOKART
